Qualifications and Company History
1979-Dean Yaukey began operating as "Phantom Music" performing at local schools, nightclubs, and private parties. The signature Phantom black Cadillac hearse is still requested by schools to this date for Halloween dances.
1981-Donovan Yaukey began performing as a drummer,singer, and trumpeter with a local working band named "The Main Event." The band entertained every Friday and Saturday at local Country Clubs,Veterans Clubs, Weddings, and Private Parties.
May 15,1985 Phantom Shadow Entertainment performed the first event at Waynesboro Middle School for their yearly formal dance at the price of $100. At this time, Blue Jeans Disc Jockey and Light Show was a local favorite with 3 systems. Blue Jeans was charging $200/Night at the time which was an inspiration for Donovan to set his goals.
1987 through 1994-Business grew fast enough that we needed to multiply and leverage our abilities. We quickly went from 3 systems to a total of 20 systems between Phantom, Phantom Shadow, and The Old Phantom. We were clearly the fastest growing entertainment company in the area.
1994-Phantom Shadow Entertainment was voted "Reader's Choice-Best DJ Show" by Public Opinion newspaper. By 1994, our companies were entertaining at over 2000 events yearly.
1995-Phantom Shadow Entertainment was runner-up in "Reader's Choice-Best BAND" by Public Opinion newspaper. And we aren't even a band! (The DJ Show category had been discontinued)
1990-Present- Phantom Shadow DJ Entertainers attend national DJ convention in Atlantic City. This convention has been attended by thousands of serious disc jockeys from across the country. These conventions allows us to stay on the cutting-edge of equipment, performance, and professionalism. This investment ensures our clients of getting first class top notch service.
1990-Phantom Shadow Entertainment adds Music Video Show with 12' Video Screens.
1993-Present Phantom Shadow Entertainment adds Limousine Services
1994-Phantom Shadow purchases the first inflatable attraction, The Bounce N' Box.
1994-2003- Phantom Shadow Inflatable Attractions equipment list grows from 1 unit to over 20 units.
1994-1998 Phantom Shadow Entertainment offered Videography Services. By 1998, we realized that videography was not our specialty and chose to cut our losses and recommend local Videographers that we felt would do a respectable job.
1994-2002- Phantom Shadow Entertainment, Phantom, and the Old Phantom provide entertainment at over 2500 events per year.
1999-Phantom Shadow adds The Game Show Mania Service.
1999-Phantom Shadow Entertains for Lea Thompson's and Michael Hall's parties for their going away parties from Cabaret on broadway.
2000-Phantom Shadow Limousines purchases new limousines for its fleet.
2002-Phantom Shadow adds The New Game Show Mania Service
2003-Phantom Shadow Entertainment contracts with Bob Barry, Nationally known wedding business consultant to take the business to the next level.
Phantom Shadow Entertainment was the trusted service chosen to entertain for the largest youth gathering in the United States. There was over 50,000 youth in attendance at this national convention in Atlanta, Georgia. Thirty-six Phantom Shadow Team Members produced this huge event. This event included 96 parties at 12 different locations including Disc Jockeys, Karaoke, Karao-deo, and 16 different inflatable attractions.
This year was once again a record year for sales and growth.
2004-Once again, we have had the best year to date!
2005- New attractions by Spring 2005 will include the following: "Monkey Motion" Extreme Air Quad Pods, Scooby Doo 5-in-1 Combo, Sea Playground, Ultra Exteme Vollyball, the Defender Dome, Tiki Island Rock Wall, Gone Fishn' Shark Super Slide, Bathtub Racers, Temporary Tattoos, the Oxygen Bar, Big Chair Photos, and many great attractions. We are leading the east coast with attractions and interactive services.
